Kurofune; literally black ship.
Kurofune means the US or European ships arrived in Japan
during Edo period (fm 16th to 19th).
Japan used to be a 'closed country' except the trade with Holland,
China or Korea yet the country was 'opend' to the US.

The Commodore Matthew Perry arrived in Uraga, Yokosuka on 1853.
This is why the US Naval Base is located in Yokosuka?
Golden week ♡ the longest vacation period of the year in Japan,
which starts from the end of April, and last around 5th of May.
People go back to their hometown or travel abroad in this period.
Oddly, Golden week never ends without Omiyage (souvenirs) here.
We exchange Omiyage with friends, siblings, colleagues,
and neighbours, piling up foods in the kitchen afterwards...
