22 November, Thursday - Jupiter day, moon in Pisces,
the 9th day of the 11th lunar month.
Sakura illumination, our seasonal lighting and decorations
started. Theme for the year is 'Sakura in Winter',
and waste vegetable oil disposed in Shinagawa is used
to light up our Meguro river beautifully
between 5 and 10pm every night through New year.
I personally feel a little bit disappointed to see
this Western style decoration since the theme is Sakura.

No, 'Cherry blossoms in Winter' doesn't fit either.
Many office buildings along the river also
put on the pink lights in favour of the theme.

The seasonal illuminations have become popular event
even in Oriental countries. Our lighting is much simple
compared to other attraction sites yet locals
are pretty much looking forward to seeing our Meguro
River is dressed up and praised in such a romantic way.
