3rd January, Monday - Moon day, moon in Capricorn,
the 29th day of the 11th lunar month.

Hatsumōde is the New Year's shrine or temple visit.
People make wishes for a happy new year or good luck,
and also buy a new year's Omamori (amulet/ charm)/ Omikuji
(fortune oracle) at there.
The old amulets must be returned to shrines or temples
because those sacred things must be treated in the
proper way. Normally, shrines and temples held the rituals,
and old ones are tossed into the fire one by one.
(For details, see wiki. click   ).

Visited Ebisu-sama, a patron god of fishermen/ prosperity,
for our bay town Shinagawa.

↓ says 'Gods watch over you'.
Do not dump the old sacred things here.
- shrine office -

Sir, we know it! I mean, some people never learn.
We are stray sheep!

↓ Omikuji; a written fortune oracle.
When your Omikuji predicts bad luck, you can tie it
into a tree on the shrine/ the temple grounds,
in the hope that its prediction will not come true. by wiki.

So many....
Have you bought Omamori or Omikuji before?
